Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms of Service set forth the conditions, procedures, and rights and obligations between DongHyuck Yang ("Operator") and users regarding the use of the Name Lab application ("Service").

Article 2 (Definitions)

• "Service" means the name-analysis and naming (Korean name study) mobile application provided by the Operator (name reading, naming/renaming, name compatibility, etc.), including supplementary reading features such as Saju, compatibility, date selection and dream interpretation, and related ancillary services.
• "User" means any person who uses the Service in accordance with these Terms.
• "Content" means the Saju profile information (name, birth date and time, gender, birthplace, etc.), dream text, face/palm photos, and other data entered by the User in the Service.

Article 3 (Effectiveness and Amendment of Terms)

• These Terms become effective when posted on the Service or otherwise notified to Users.
• The Operator may amend these Terms to the extent not in violation of applicable laws, and shall notify Users through the app at least 7 days before the amendment takes effect.
• Users who do not agree to the amended Terms may discontinue use of the Service and withdraw their account.

Article 4 (Provision and Modification of Service)

The Operator provides the following services:

• Saju (Four Pillars) readings and daily fortune
• Compatibility readings
• Date selection (auspicious dates) and traditional almanac lookup
• Dream interpretation
• Tarot card readings
• Face reading and palm reading — a photo you take or select is analyzed by Google Gemini
• Automated fortune readings — a non-identifying summary derived from your Saju profile, or text you enter, is sent to Google Gemini to generate the reading
• In-app advertising (a rewarded ad may be shown before some readings)

The Operator may modify the content of the Service and shall provide prior notice of such changes.

Article 5 (Execution of Service Agreement)

• The service agreement is established when the User agrees to these Terms and completes registration via social login (Google, Apple, or Kakao).
• The Operator may reject a registration application in the following cases: impersonation, intent to use the Service for unlawful purposes, or technical impediments.

Article 6 (User Obligations)

Users shall NOT engage in the following:

• Registering or using another person's photos or personal information without consent
• Uploading face or palm photos of anyone other than yourself or a person who has duly authorized you
• Using the Service for unjust enrichment or to deceive others
• Interfering with the operation of the Service
• Collecting, storing, or disclosing other users' personal information
• Any act in violation of applicable laws

Users are responsible for the management of their own accounts.

Article 7 (Operator Obligations)

• The Operator shall not engage in acts prohibited by applicable laws or these Terms, and shall make its best efforts to provide a stable Service.
• The Operator shall securely manage Users' personal information and process it in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

Article 8 (Service Restriction and Suspension)

• Unavoidable circumstances such as facility maintenance
• Service suspension by a telecommunications provider as defined under the Telecommunications Business Act
• Force majeure events such as natural disasters or equivalent circumstances

If a User violates these Terms, the Operator may restrict use after prior notice.

Article 9 (Disclaimers)

• All fortune readings provided by the Service (Saju, compatibility, date selection, dream interpretation, tarot, face reading, palm reading, etc.) are provided for entertainment and reference purposes only. They do NOT constitute, and are not a substitute for, professional medical, legal, financial, investment, career, or life advice.
• The Operator does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or predictive value of any reading. Users must make all decisions at their own judgment and responsibility. The Operator is not liable for any decisions made by Users on the basis of a reading, or for the outcomes thereof.
• Readings are generated by Google Gemini and may contain inaccurate or inconsistent content.
• For important matters concerning health, legal, or financial issues, please consult a qualified professional in the relevant field.
• Unless caused by the Operator's willful misconduct or gross negligence, Users are solely responsible for information and photos they enter, create, or share through the Service.
• In-app advertisements are provided by third parties (such as Google AdMob), and the advertiser is solely responsible for the content of such advertisements.

Article 10 (Limitation of Liability)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Service.

Article 11 (Copyright and Intellectual Property)

• Copyright and intellectual property rights in the Service and its software belong to the Operator.
• Ownership of Content entered by the User, such as Saju profiles and photos, belongs to the User. However, the User grants the Operator the right to process such Content to the extent necessary to provide the Service (generating fortune readings).

Article 12 (Termination and Withdrawal)

• Users may withdraw at any time through the in-app settings, and the Operator shall immediately delete the account.
• Upon withdrawal, all server-side data of the User shall be irrecoverably deleted. Saju profile data stored on the device is deleted by the User or removed together with the app upon uninstallation.
• Upon withdrawal, linked social login (Google, Apple, Kakao) app connections shall also be revoked, preventing the Service from accessing the User's social account.

Article 13 (Dispute Resolution)

• Disputes arising in relation to these Terms shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
• Any disputes arising from the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Operator's location.

Article 14 (Miscellaneous)

• Matters not addressed in these Terms shall be governed by the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and other applicable laws.
• These Terms are provided in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese. In the event of any discrepancy between the language versions, the Korean version shall prevail.
